Packers GM addresses decision to draft Jordan Love, admits he has not yet spoken to Aaron Rodgers

The most surprising move of NFL Draft 2020 was made by the Green Bay Packers when they went for Jordan Love, the former Utah State quarterback with No. 26 as their overall pick. They not only gave everyone a shock by drafting a backup quarterback in the first round itself, but also they decided to trade up for this.

Typically, the decision to draft a new signal-caller drew the attention of the fans towards Green Bay. This decision by the Packers also brought back the memories of how they selected Aaron Rodgers No. 24 as their overall pick in the NFL Draft, 2005.

Brian Gutekunst, the General Manager of Green Bay Packers on late Thursday night, sat down for a conference call with the reporters and explained how he thought the first round of the drafting went. He also gave reasons for Drafting Love.

Gutekunst further said that he has not yet connected with Aaron Rodgers. Still, Brian believes that Aaron has been through a similar situation, and he is undoubtedly a pro in handling this. Also, picking up Jordan Love had been a long-term decision for the team, and Brian is quite definite that Aaron will receive the news elegantly as this is one of the best decisions taken for the Packers.
