Production Ramping Up For Legal Cannabis in Illinois

Cultivators are prodding, trimming as well as pampering marijuana plants in the outskirt regions of Downstate, Illinois, in anticipation of cannabis legalization on 1 January.

As per Jeremy Unruh, Pharmacann regulatory affairs director, the state offered them the authority to start producing cannabis. They have ramped up the production from now to ensure that they can meet the demand they’ll witness after January next year, added Unruh.

The marijuana growing capacity is being doubled at the Dwight cultivation facility, said Unruh. This is because they want to produce double the product that they presently produce in medical scheme.

Illinois is heading to its appointment held with what several believe would be a vital cultural change across the state. Though 55 medical facilities are currently entitled to recreational marijuana licenses under this new law, just 14 such facilities have received the license so far.

Several licensees expect to develop secondary websites, however, no one have received the state permission to do so.

Coming to the production front, cannabis requires patience and hard work. The plant requires accurate amounts of water, light as well as nutrient. To let the plant produce as much of THC as required, carbon dioxide levels need to be increased far beyond what they will generally receive in the outside environment. This process involves fooling the marijuana plant into believing that the seasons are altering and its life cycle may end.
