Houston Texans’ Bill O’Brien furious at Detroit Lions over failed 2020 NFL draft trade, per report
Bill O’Brien didn’t enjoy camping, and his old colleagues from the New England Patriots played a huge role behind this dissatisfaction. The Houston Texans coach and the General Manager, Bill O’Brien, was captured on camera later in the third round of NFL 2020 on a Friday while slamming down his phone with utter disgust.
Bill O’Brien further muttered a few words of choice at someone off the screen. However, according to the reports of the Houston Chronicle, the root cause behind O’Brien’s behavior was the Detroit Lions.
According to the Chronicle, the Lions backed out of the trade while the Texans were still on the clock with their 90th pick of the draft trade. The General Manager of Detroit Lions, Bob Quinn, in a post-draft video conference said that he had spoken with O’Brien several times that Friday, yet he couldn’t recall any deal that was ever in action.
Quinn further made his argument by saying that they talk to a lot of teams at once, and when they are not on the clock, they have conversations with several groups, and he isn’t only one person to carry out the task. There are four to five people who take over the job to make calls. And thus, Quinn isn’t sure about what upset O’Brien; but, they never really had a trade finalized.
